Thank You for Your Support!

3rd August 2023

Images of donations from schools, individuals, local businesses, clubs and groups, churches and supermarkets arranged around a large 'Thank you'

The cost of living crisis has seen foodbanks facing their most challenging time ever. At Wetherby and District Foodbank, we’ve experienced a FOUR FOLD rise in need and although donations have still been coming in, we’ve found that over the last year our stock levels have struggled to keep up.

Earlier this summer we appealed to our wider community for extra support – and you are delivering! We are so grateful for all the additional support we’re getting from across our community. We’ve had extra donations of food from high schools, primary schools, churches, clubs, groups, sports fans, individuals, local businesses large and small, as well as from all our local supermarkets and their customers. THANK YOU!

We’ve also seen an increase in donations of money and fundraising activities from businesses and also donations from individuals using the link to our CAF Donate page too, so if this includes you, THANK YOU!

We receive regular and on-going support from Sykes House Farm who let us use their van – fully fuelled and insured – whenever we need it. This enables us to collect supermarket and school donations from across our district and also redistribute close-to-date food items to other local food charities such as Resurrected Bites in Knaresborough. Support like this from local businesses enables us to operate across our large semi-rural district that extends as far as outer Leeds, outer York, south of Tadcaster and north towards Harrogate and Boroughbride. THANK YOU!

We’d also like to thank other community organisations such as Wetherby Salvation Army and Tempo Radio who have engaged with us and are offering on-going support. Together, we can and are helping people in our community who are struggling.

Thank you everyone for your generosity and on-going support during such difficult times.
