Foodbank Strategy Update for 2026

28th January 2026

Comparison stats for 4th quarter of 2025

Here is a Foodbank Strategy Update from our Chair of Trustees, Rebecca Lythe:

🌟 Looking Ahead: Our Aims & Priorities for 2026
As we step into the new year, and with a new Project Coordinator on board, the Trustees have taken time to set a clear direction for the year ahead:

🎯 A reminder of our Four Aims for 2025–2028
🥫 Provide food and essentials to those who need them.
🧭 Signpost advice and support to help break the cycle of food poverty.
📣 Raise awareness of food poverty and the foodbank’s role in tackling it.
🛠️ Run an efficient, resourceful organisation that makes the most of what we have.
🚀 Strategic Priorities for 2026

We’re proud to continue offering food and essentials to those in need—thanks to our incredible volunteers, especially at this time of year when money problems tend to be higher and more help is needed. In addition, to support our first aim, we plan to review all referral pathways so that as many people as possible can access our help.

To support our second aim, we will continue a partnership with a debt and money advice provider since we continue to see a real impact in them helping people manage their finances and access guidance. In addition, we are planning a community network event in June to try and raise awareness of the work we do and how we connect with other organisations in our area.

The third aim, to raise awareness of food poverty and the foodbank’s role in tackling it will be where we put new efforts, Hayley Dodsworth will review our communication strategy and develop a fundraising plan, which we talked about in the last newsletter.

We’ll be reaching out to engage the whole community in these efforts—because together, we can do so much more.
