We are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Foodbank Coordinator, Jenny Firth. Jenny lives locally in Boston Spa and her role as coordinator will focus heavily on outreach work across our district whilst assisting in the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of our foodbank.
Jenny told us :
“Having donated monthly and more recently, volunteered for the food bank, when I saw the role of coordinator come up I thought it would be a great opportunity to do more.
I enjoy working with and meeting new people and am hoping my skills and experience in local authority work, teaching and running my own small business will equip me well for the job. I am well aware of the huge commitment all the volunteers give and hope I can always offer support.”
The cost of living crisis is still having a profound impact across our district and an important aspect of Jenny’s work will include fostering closer relationships with organisations such as schools, churches, and other community groups. This will help increase our visibility and make sure everyone knows we’re here to support them should they find themselves in need.
We look forward to working with Jenny when she takes up her new role later in the summer.
