Tesco Free Fruit for kids during school holidays

20th May 2026

FREE PICNIC FUN AND GAMES WITH WETHERBY FOODBANK

As a long term partner with Tesco,  Wetherby and District Foodbank have 100 free picnics for distribution AT THE WETHERBY MARKET by the Foodbank on Thursday, 28th May, and during dates in July and August, during the long summer holiday.

Fun activities are planned around winning a picnic by taking part in a food themed Market Scavenger Hunt to unscramble an eight letter word to win.

The Wetherby Town Hall is a Wetherby and District Foodbank Donation Station and is able to accept tins and dried goods on an ongoing basis.

We would like to thank Tesco for their support of our free fruit for kids scavenger hunt.

SUPPORTING KIDS THIS SUMMER HOLIDAY:
Tesco will be offering Free Fruit for Kids in store from 27th April to 31st May 2026 and then will continue the initiative across school holidays for the rest of 2026 (excluding December). The scheme builds on Tesco’s commitment to making healthier choices easier for families, encouraging children to enjoy fruit as part of their day while shopping with their parents or carers. By providing access to free fruit beyond term time, Tesco aims to support families during school holidays, when routines change and access to healthy food can be more challenging.
